International Coal Ventures Private Limited (ICVL), empowered with autonomy and freedom at par with Navratna Companies in India, was incorporated as a Private Limited Company on 20th May 2009. ICVL has been promoted as a Special Purpose Vehicle by SAIL, RINL , NMDC, CIL and NTPC for acquiring coal mines and assets overseas.

In its first colossal global leap to meet its objectives, ICVL acquired one Brownfield and two Greenfield mines and other mines and logistic infrastructures of Rio Tinto in Tete Province of Mozambique in the year 2014.

Since the acquisition, ICVL has been successfully mining Run of Mine (RoM) Coal and producing coking coal for catering the ever-rising coking coal demands of its Steel Producing Promoter Companies in India.

As its main motto, ICVL aspires to be the major supplier of metallurgical/thermal coal for its Promoter Companies, while exploring the new international market for its coal products.

International Coal Ventures (P) Ltd (ICVL) was incorporated on 20th May, 2009 under CIN No. U10100DL2009PTC190448 with an initial authorized capital of ICVL of Rs.10,000 crores.

ICVL has been empowered with autonomy and freedom currently accorded to Navratna companies without formal Navratna status.
